When you contact me for an estimate, in return you will receive a Research Proposal that will include research plan, rationale behind it, timing and financial details.
Accepted payment methods: PayPal, wire transfer (to a bank in Poland), Western Union.
Invoices are issued as the basis of payments.
Research results are delivered in the form of Research Report in .pdf format sent elecronically together with digital images of records found.
If hard copies , certificates, true and exact copies of documents are obtained, they are sent by registered mail.
SERVICES
GENEALOGY RESEARCH
Research in all range of records (including vital records) available online and in archives in Poland to answer particular questions about ancestors or to produce complete genealogies of one or several ancestral lines.
Research is offered on hourly rate basis. The estimates are related to individual research questions. Typically the research may involve:
– assessment of research possibilities/initial research: 3-5 hours
– confirmation of ancestral location by finding 1-2 vital records as proof: minimum 5 hours
– researching one family name as far back in time as possible – direct line of ancestors without side lines: minimum 10 hours
– research one family name as far back in time as possible with side lines (siblings at each generational level): minimum 20 hours
TRANSLATION OF RECORDS
Translation of civil vital records from Polish and Russian into English from the parts of Poland which were under the Russian partition. Typically records were run in Polish between 1808-1867 and after 1918 and in Russian between 1868-1918 though in some parts Russian was introduced earlier as a language of vital records.
Also, translation of vital records from Latin into English.
Also, translation of historic and contemporary certificates of BMD from Polish, Russian and Latin into Enlish.
Other texts can be translated as well.
Quotations are sent once digital images of records, documents etc. are sent for an estimation.
RECORDS/DOCUMENTS RETRIEVAL
There are still a lot of records and documents which are not available online and need to be retrieved from relevant government offices.
I retrieve certificates and true and exact copies of documents for heir search cases and reclaiming Polish citizienship process.
FIELD RESEARCH, CEMETERY RESEARCH
I offer field research in the ancestral locations to take photos of the ancestral area at present, check if family graves still exist, research if family history can be updated this way.
DNA RELATED RESEARCH
I offer research to confirm how DNA matches with ancestry from Poland are related to each other.
I work with DNA test results to search for unknown parents from Poland.
I have experience of working with all of DNA testing companies (Ancestry DNA, 23andMe, Family Tree DNA, My Heritage) and GEDmatch.
GUIDING SERVICES ON ANCESTRAL TRAVELS IN POLAND
I work with independent travelers who come to visit their ancestral parts of Poland or work with travel agents that arrange ancestral trips for their Clients.
As part of preparation for a trip to ancestral area, I confirm where the ancestral towns and villages are located in Poland. Also, I prepare detailed descriptions of itineraries tailored to learn as much as possible about the live of the ancestors in the places where they lived.
